Larry Hicks has dedicated his life to Hicks Flooring, starting his journey in 1961 as a tile setter at just 14 years old. At 17, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and proudly served from 1966 to 1968. After returning home to San Antonio, he transitioned into sales and steadily worked his way up through every part of the business.

In 1988, Larry became the sole owner of Hicks Flooring, leading the company with a focus on craftsmanship, integrity, and community. With over 60 years in the flooring industry, Larry’s experience and leadership have shaped Hicks Flooring into one of San Antonio’s most trusted family-owned businesses. His story is a testament to hard work, dedication, and the American dream.

A proud Marine and lifelong San Antonian, Larry enjoys classic cars, weekend projects, and spinning records from his favorite artists, Elvis Presley and Buddy Holly. He continues to mentor the next generations of the Hicks family, sharing his wisdom, humor, and deep love for the business.

Carlton Hicks

Vice President

4th Generation Hicks Family Member

Carlton Hicks proudly represents the fourth generation of the Hicks family and has been a key leader at Hicks Flooring for over 20 years. As Vice President, he specializes in residential sales with a strong focus on insurance-related and restoration projects.

Carlton's extensive knowledge in these areas allows him to guide homeowners through complex claims and ensure seamless flooring solutions during challenging times. Carlton grew up in the business, learning the trade firsthand from his father and grandfather. His hands-on experience, deep product expertise, and commitment to customer care have made him a trusted advisor for clients across San Antonio.

A proud San Antonio native, Carlton is passionate about continuing his family’s legacy of craftsmanship, integrity, and community connection. Outside of work, he enjoys barbecues, live music, and staying active with hot yoga.

Sydney Hicks

Operations Director

5th Generation Hicks Family Member

Sydney joined the family business in 2023 after graduating from Texas A&M University with a degree in Communications and Business. As the fifth generation and the first woman in the Hicks family to carry on the legacy, she brings a fresh perspective and deep passion for flooring and community.

Born and raised in San Antonio, Sydney takes pride in serving the same neighborhoods her family has supported for nearly a century. In her role as Operations Director, she focuses on optimizing daily operations, enhancing the customer experience, and ensuring every project reflects the high standards Hicks Flooring is known for.

Sydney is committed to modernizing the company’s systems while staying true to the values that have guided Hicks Flooring for nearly 90 years. Sydney is especially passionate about creating seamless, stress-free experiences for customers, from the first showroom visit to the final walkthrough.

Outside of work, she enjoys live music, weekends on the water, and spending time with friends and family.
